We welcome you to bring your pet to one of our scheduled clinics to receive high quality, cost effective care. We offer routine vaccinations plus a low cost microchip program to help keep your dogs and cats safe and healthy. Refer to the details below or contact us for more information.

  • No appointments are necessary, but our clinics are very popular, so a long wait time may be likely.  There will be no waiting rooms inside the shelter.
  • During busy periods, HSLC reserves the right to limit the number of pets per household and may limit the number of tickets available each day to ensure we can complete all services before closing time.
  • Cats must be brought in carriers and dogs must be leashed
  • Please bring the most recent vaccine records with you to help us determine the appropriate vaccines required for your pet. Also, refer to specific notes below for rabies vaccine and heartworm treatment.
  • Clinic dates, times, and location may be subject to change due to unplanned events or severe weather, so be sure to check the HSLC Event Calendar or call the shelter for more information.

microchip_implantWe offer the AVID Microchip System which provides a safe, effective, and inexpensive method to identify your pet if it ever becomes lost or stolen. The procedure is simple and can be performed at any of our scheduled clinics. A tiny chip is implanted into your dog or cat and contains pertinent owner information. With a quick scan of the chip, a vet or animal shelter can immediately tell who the owner is of the lost animal. Your pet’s information will be registered through microchip-closeup-300x248us for the life of your pet. And, unlike some other microchip products, there is no annual fee or additional cost after the initial service.

It is never too late (or too soon) to take this simple, low cost step to help identify your pet if ever lost… It’s a decision you won’t regret! For more information about the AVID microchip, contact our shelter or visit the AVID web site: www.avidid.com.

all_about_animals.1Are your pets spayed or neutered? It’s never too late!

We partner with All About Animals Rescue to offer local LOW COST options to the public for spay /neuter services.

Cat spay/neuter $40.
Dog spay/neuter $80.
Licensed veterinarians perform all surgeries.

From April through November, All About Animals Rescue will have their state of the art mobile surgery van at our shelter on Dorr Road on selected dates each month.

They also offer transport service from our shelter to their clinic on selected dates. Your pet will be picked up at our shelter, transported to their clinic for surgery, and then returned to you at our shelter the next day.
