Meet Pork Chop and Applesauce – Happy Adoption Update!

Very Special Kittens with Special Love to Share – Adopt Pork Chop and Applesauce Together!

We are Pork Chop and Applesauce, two VERY SPECIAL kittens who were rescued from the streets in separate situations, but both in dire need of medical care and brought to our shelter where we were treated, loved, and became best friends! We LOVE to play and rough-house together as ‘brothers’ do, sleep together, and find comfort in helping each other adjust to new situations. We are a PURR-FECT PAIR to ADOPT TOGETHER!

Pork Chop is one of the most loving, adventurous kittens you will ever meet! He does not seem to know he is completely blind!

Pork Chop was found by a shelter rescue worker in a desperate situation. He was emaciated and running into walls in an abandoned alley.  He had severe eye issues causing his blindness and would have been euthanized at the other shelter, so thankfully, he was transferred to us and placed in a loving foster home to gain some weight until we could safely remove his eyes and allow him to fully recover.  He has shown himself to be the SWEETEST, most even tempered kitten and his blindness makes him no less adventurous! He LOVES to play with toys, climb the cat tree, and follow you around the house – and he LOVES to eat! But, his favorite thing is to just lie by your side or on your lap and be petted and PURR. He also LOVES other cats, gets along with dogs and children, and easily adjusts to new situations. His ideal home would be one that understands how to accommodate his blindness and give him all the love he deserves! He would LOVE to be adopted with his best friend, Applesauce if possible!

Applesauce has become a much more confident, active boy since recovering from his surgery — but still LOVES to cuddle!

Applesauce was found as a stray in dire condition with severe emaciation, dehydration, and eye infection. He was found to have severe eyelid agenesis (born without upper portion of his eyelids) and was in pain from the hairs on his head rubbing onto his corneas. He would have been euthanized at the shelter who initially took him in, but thankfully, he was transferred to us where he was placed into a loving foster home to gain weight and recover from his eye infection until we could provide the surgery he needed to allow him to live with his eyelid condition without problems. He is now an EXTREMELY HAPPY, young boy able to experience all the JOY of being a kitten, perhaps for the first time in his life without pain! He is a little shy in new situations, but once he feels safe, is VERY LOVING, playful (likes catnip), loves to be petted, and PURRS all the time! He would do best in a quiet, relaxed home without too many sudden changes or things to startle him. He would LOVE to be adopted with his best friend, Pork Chop if possible!

Both of these sweet, helpless kittens would have been euthanized at the other shelter. Thankfully, we were able to take them in for specific treatments and give them the chance to live a full, happy life! They are doing great now! Both are SO loving, playful, and waiting at our shelter for someone special to come fall in love with them!
